Leicester City FC are based in Leicester, England. They were founded in 1884 as Leicester Fosse, and in 1919 they changed their name to Leicester City Football Club. They play their home matches at the King Power Stadium, which has a capacity of 32,261 seats. The record home attendance for the club was set in 1938, when 47,298 fans watched Leicester City play Tottenham Hotspur in an FA Cup tie at their old ground at Filbert Street. Leicester City have won the FA Cup in 1969, and have been runners-up four times.They have won the League Cup three times, most recently in 2020, and have been runners-up on two occasions. Leicester City won the Premier League title in the 2015-16 season, which was widely regarded as one of the greatest achievements in modern football history, with the club’s relatively low budget. Leicester City’s nickname is the Foxes and the club’s crest is a fox’s head. Leicester City’s famous players over the years, include Peter Shilton, Gary Lineker, and Jamie Vardy. They were the first English club to play in European football, playing in the European Cup in the 1961-62 season.
