Fulham are one of the oldest professional football clubs in London, founded in 1879. The club was initially established as a church team before becoming a professional outfit in 1898. Home matches are played at Craven Cottage, located in the Hammersmith and Fulham borough of West London, which has a capacity of 19,000 seats. The record attendance for a Fulham home game stands at 49,335, which was set in a match against Millwall in 1938. Fulham haven’t won as many trophies as some of their London rivals but have won the Second Division title in 1949 and have lifted the Championship trophy twice, in 2001 and 2020. The club’s most successful period came under the ownership of Mohamed Al Fayed, who transformed Fulham from a struggling lower league side into a Premier League outfit. The club enjoyed its best ever season in 2009-2010, when they reached the final of the Europa League, but they lost to Atletico Madrid in extra time. Fulham’s nickname is the “Cottagers,” which derives from the name of their stadium, Craven Cottage. The ground has been the club’s home since 1896, and it’s one of the most charming and iconic stadiums in English football. The stadium’s quirky design means that it has a limited capacity, but it’s also one of the reasons why it’s so beloved by Fulham fans. Over the years, Fulham has had some notable players, including Johnny Haynes, who was the first £100-a-week footballer in England, and George Cohen, who was a member of England’s 1966 World Cup-winning team. Fulham were the first English team to have a shirt sponsor. In the 1979-1980 season, the club struck a deal with the electrical company, Rank Xerox, to have their logo on the front of their shirts. This was a ground-breaking move at the time and paved the way for the commercialisation of football in the decades that followed. We have a good range of Fulham merchandise including hats, scarves, backpacks, and gifts.
