Nicknamed “The Toffees” or “The Blues” the club’s motto is “Nil Satis Nisi Optimum” which means “Nothing but the best is good enough”. The team run out to the them from an old tv programme “Z Cars”. Everton’s most iconic players include Dixie Dean, who scored a remarkable 383 goals for the club in just 433 appearances, Neville Southall, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers in the history of the game, and Alan Ball, who helped England win the World Cup in 1966.
