The record attendance at their previous stadium, White Hart Lane, was 75,038, which they achieved in a match against Sunderland in 1938. They also reached the final of the UEFA Champions League in 2019, where they were beaten by Liverpool. The club’s nickname is the “Spurs”, which is a shortened version of their original name, “Hotspur Football Club”, which was named after Sir Henry Percy, who was known as Harry Hotspur.
